They catch the headlines and you constantly read stories about them. Perhaps you even know one or two. These men and women overcame obstacles to take their businesses to the next level even during tough economic times. Like them, you want to make the growth of your home based or small business more than a dream. But how do you step out of routines, over the obstacles, and up to opportunities?
The 5 key steps to overcome obstacles and grow your business are:
1. Clarify what you expect! It's no secret; the most successful people are decisive. They know specifically what they want and focus their energies on achieving it. First, you need to reflect on exactly what it is that you want. Only then will the next steps make sense and be worth your effort.
2. Write down what you want. When you write, it brings into focus important details. You do not need to be a Hemingway, nor does your effort need to produce a lengthy document. You do need to transfer your thoughts to paper or PC, making sure in the process to draw out of you the specific things you want to accomplish.
3. Refine what you want. After writing down your thoughts, begin to hone the picture. You started with a simple question, "What do I want?" Now you need to ask, "When do I want it?" Broaden your scope, "Who can help me achieve it?" Get practical, "How can I accomplish it?" Then ask, "Where do I go to achieve it?" If there are multiple ways to get it, ask this question, "Which path is best for me?"
4. Determine how committed you are to accomplishing what you want. You may protest at this step because you feel like you wouldn't be reading this article if you were not already committed. As an illustration of the issues, having a love for music is different than having a white-hot passion for playing it; the former is merely a sometimes thing while the latter is an all-the-time thing that urges you to continually practice and improve. You need to evaluate the level of your passion and then commit to doing whatever it takes to achieve what you want.
5. Get help to accelerate getting what you want. More than likely many individuals have preceded you on your quest. That means they've already made the big mistakes and have found many of the best paths, offering you the opportunity to avoid pitfalls and go faster. You need to seek guidance and apply lessons to accelerate getting what you want, in business and in life!
Ideas are a dime a dozen. Ideas implemented are PRICELESS!
