Network Marketing - The Perfect Business?

Today the home business industry is full of opportunities, hype and empty promises. Are you overwhelmed with the options and having a hard time deciding what opportunities are legitimate, ethical and worth your time? Let me give you some insight as to why network marketing may just be the perfect business model

The thought of owning a business of some sort has crossed everyone's mind at one point or another. While some consider franchising, starting a traditional small business or even investing in established companies via the stock market, most people dream of owning a home based business.

After nearly a decade of research into various business models, investments and opportunities I have come to the conclusion that Network Marketing is the most ethical and quite possibly the perfect business model. With that said, let's go into detail as to how I arrived at this conclusion.

First of all you must understand that the purpose of all businesses is to earn a profit and create cash flow. This however is not the underlying problem. The problem lies in the methods each business model uses to achieve this goal and what steps they take to increase their profits and cash flow.

In a traditional business model used by corporations, franchises, small business owners and real estate investors, the initial profits come from offering a product or service to a consumer who is willing to purchase that product or service at a set price. In Network Marketing the same is true also. A product or service is offered to an end consumer at a competitive price. However this is where the similarities end.

When a traditional business wishes to increase its profits or cash flow it does so by bringing someone else "pain". Let's look at a few examples. A real estate investor who owns several rental properties would increase his profits by possibly raising the price a tenant pays for the service he or she offers. While this is good for the investor the tenant feels the "pain" of the increased price of the service. On the other hand a traditional corporation or small business might increase its profits by possibly squeezing the supplier, raising consumer prices and reducing wages and benefits for its employees. This type of move would bring "pain" to countless individuals in many sectors of the economy.

In Network Marketing the exact opposite is true. Success is achieved not by bring an individual "pain" but by empowering them and improving their quality of life. Each individual has the same opportunity for success, which is a quality that a traditional business model does not possess. For this reason I am passionate about Network Marketing and the opportunity it provides to an average individual. When performed correctly Network Marketing is one of the most financially and personally rewarding careers I know of and by far the most ethical. To know that you have made a positive impact in the lives of many rather than profiting from their "pain" brings me to the conclusion that Network Marketing is the perfect business model.

Interesting post. I'll keep it in mind, because I want to run my own business some day. I've thought about it, and I think I'd like to buy a business instead of starting one from scratch. My only problem is that I'm unsure about the approach. Should I buy a franchise? A non-franchise? Home-based? I'm unsure. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks.
